I’ve been making jelly for years. In the beginning, I gave it as gifts to family and friends. I’ve also been selling it at Farmer’s Markets and craft shows. Several people commented that my jellies were the best they had ever tasted, and that I should sell them in stores, so Rafter 7S was born.

Rafter 7S is located 30 miles north of Paxton in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills. It is in cattle country on a real working ranch. We work with my husbands parents. It is very nice for the kids to get to know their grandparents. The name “Rafter 7S” comes from our brand. The brand was first registered by my husband’s grandfather.

The company consists of my husband, Dean, myself (Sherri) and our children (Kate, Mara, and Clay). The wild fruits are mostly picked by us, in our area. There are a couple local gentlemen that grow the peppers. We pick only the finest peppers for our products.

Our specialty is pepper jelly. Have you ever tried pepper jelly? It has a sweet-spicy taste, but not too spicy. The most popular way to serve it is over cheese with crackers. It is also good to toast a bagel and top with cream cheese and pepper jelly. Our pepper glazes are used any place you would use a barbeque sauce. They give cooked meats a sweet and spicy taste. We have unique varieties such as Strawberry Jalapeno, Blackberry Habanero, Raspberry Jalapeno, and Holiday Habanero.

My jelly is made the old fashioned way, in small hand stirred batches. It contains no corn syrup. It is all natural and contains no preservatives. Give our jellies a try. Once you savor the down-home flavor, you will begin to imagine you are visiting us right here at the ranch!
